The Y is proud to be Van Wert's only provider of the nation's leading fitness program for active older adults, SilverSneakers! Several plans still offer the Silver Sneakers benefit, including one AARP plan, the MedicareComplete HMO. If it is not, your insurer still may provide wellness benefits through the reimbursement of gym memberships if you go regularly. With Optum® Fitness Advantage, from AARP Silver Sneakers UnitedHealthcare®, it's easy to keep your fitness routine fresh and fun. SilverSneakers Circuit is a workout that offers standing, low-impact choreography that is alternated with upper-body strength work with weights, elastic tubing and a ball.

Being a member could offer significant discounts other than Silver-Sneakers, AARP Vision Discount program and the Nurses Healthline. Starting January 1, 2018, all fitness classes will be included with the SilverSneakers program. Some Medicare Advantage insurance plans also offer the SilverSneakers program too.
